How do I start Stripe integration?

Adding a new Stripe account to the admin panel

In order for you to be able to accept payments to your own Stripe account, you need to configure it in your store's admin panel. To do this, go to the ADMINISTRATION -> Payment configuration module and select the Stripe tab in the selected payment profile.

If you don't have any Stripe accounts set up, click the setup link. You will be taken to the Stripe Accounts setup page. To set up a new account, click the Add new Stripe account button.

When you click "Add a new Stripe account", you will be taken to Stripe where you will be prompted to log into your account, or you will go through a short procedure to register a new account.

After adding your account and completing all the steps - including confirming your email address - you will be able to use your account when setting up your payment profile.

I already have a Stripe account, can I add it or do I need to create a new account?

If you already have an account with Stripe, adding such an account in the IdoSell panel is very simple. All you need to do is log in to your Stripe account so that when connecting your account in the IdoSell administration panel, it will be possible to indicate the selected account that you previously created in the Stripe panel.

Is one account with Stripe enough to process multi-country payments?

Yes. It is important that the Stripe account is opened in the country where the merchant is registered.

Stripe strives to make local payments from other countries available regardless of the country where the merchant is registered, however some restrictions may apply.

In connection with the above, Stripe in the purchasing process in the IdoSell store allows the customer to select payment methods that are currently available due to the merchant's country. Stripe does not provide information on which currencies each payment method supports. As a result, for example for the country of Poland, for the PLN currency, although a wide range of payments will be available, only, for example, Przelewy24 and BLIK will handle the PLN currency. In the case of the rest, an error will be returned when trying to pay. In this case, the solution is to leave only selected payment methods enabled in a given Stripe account that will handle the given currency.

Therefore, in the payment profile, in the IdoSell administration panel, you must also assign the profile to the appropriate countries (supporting a given currency) and indicate for which currency Stripe should be displayed in the store.

So if you want to offer Stripe payments in different countries, we recommend that you set up several Stripe accounts, enable only the payment methods selected for the given currency and configure the payment profiles in the store accordingly.
