New Pricelist and Terms and Conditions introducing ELASTIC CLOUD and CLOUD PRO

One month in advance we present changes to the Terms and Conditions and the IdoSell Price List, maintaining the rules for introducing new conditions contained in the Contract and the existing Terms and Conditions

For 20 years, our main goal has been to increase the sales of stores using our solutions.

Reflecting and researching what we can improve in the next 10 years, so that our clients can sell even more, we returned to the idea of the autoscaler, i.e. a mechanism that will add the computing power of a dedicated server when there is a sales peak and when traffic drops, it will release power, automatically lowering charges. We have been working on building the autoscaler for years. We managed to build a working system, but the problem was always how to run such an extensive system on a low-power dedicated server, i.e. DEDICATED CLOUD 2 and DEDICATED CLOUD 4. This way we have reached the turning point - it's time to abandon the previous thinking about the fact that the customer's online store must run on 1 server. The obstacle to introducing the change consisting in placing stores in the computing cloud, using micro-services, was the 20-year old billing scheme based on the power of the server.

For stores that want to focus primarily on selling, we created the idea of a completely new solution, in which settlements would be made for each order, not in terms of computing power.

This is how the idea of CLOUD PRO was born - a store solution that:

  • allows the seller to focus solely on selling
  • adjusts the server power to the sales needs
  • is ready to implement the latest technologies to facilitate online sales, i.e. headless front-end / PWA and micro-services

Autoscaling

No more thinking about how much power your dedicated server has. CLOUD PRO gives your store as much power as it needs at any given moment without the need to migrate to a faster server. Typically, our administrators had to complete the process on different days and times, often in a hurry. The stores, although the migration took place as quickly as possible, in the event of overloading the store, their image suffered and some customers could give up shopping. In an extreme case of overload, the store could be temporarily unavailable.

  • No more abandoned carts due to failure during sales peaks
  • No more wondering if the store will withstand further aggressive promotions
  • Now you are only thinking of selling!

Micro-services

By abandoning the idea that all services must run on one server, we were able to start building our first micro-services. And these are small, automatically scaling clouds dedicated to specific activities, e.g. indexing and product search. The micro-service operates outside the main store server, performing one, specialized type of operation for which it was created. In this way, when the traffic in the store grows, instead of performing a very complicated operation of adding memory to services, i.e. the database, the micro-service simply accepts more inquiries from the store. This helps you to respond more flexibly to traffic peaks.

New technological solutions

Thanks to micro-services, we can offer solutions that have not been used so far in the new ELASTIC CLOUD and CLOUD PRO plans. e.g:

  • A new text search engine for goods, based on Elasticsearch, thanks to which not only cache pages load quickly, and the number of filters or sorting used does not affect the speed of the page
  • Search without reloading the store
  • Headless Frontend - support for generating the page regardless of the store's engine, thanks to which the store's engine (e.g. product database) is not loaded when traffic in the store increases. Additonally, a Front-End API will also be created, allowing for complete ordering, e.g. from an application written for iPhone or Android.

New settlement model

A consequence of technological changes, but also a benefit for customers, is a truly flexible settlement model, not based on the server parameters:

  • Instead of many DEDICATED CLOUD plans, there is one subscription
  • If more than 900 store transactions or 1800 with marketplaces are made in your store, you will pay a small surcharge for each store order above the limit and even smaller surcharge for each marketplace order above the limit
  • In order to continue the motivation to write the most efficient applications connecting via API, after exceeding a million API calls, API calls are surcharged. IdoSell supporting applications: POS, Bridge, Scanner, Printer will be excluded from the above limit in the new plan.

ELASTIC CLOUD for smaller stores:

We strongly believe that the new approach of micro-services and search technology will increase sales. Therefore, we did not want them to bypass smaller sellers. With them in mind, we have prepared an ELASTIC CLOUD solution similar to CLOUD PRO, which also allows the use of all novelties, even by the smallest stores.

In the ELASTIC CLOUD plan, the fees are:

  • ELASTIC CLOUD subscription costs the same as the current CLOUD
  • If more than 90 store transactions or 300 with marketplaces are made in your store, you will pay a small surcharge for each store order above the limit and even smaller surcharge for each marketplace order above the limit
  • In order to continue the motivation to write the most efficient applications connecting via API, the limit of API calls has been limited to 100,000. IdoSell supporting applications: POS, Bridge, Scanner, Printer will be excluded from the above limit in the new plan. This means that we realistically reduce the costs of using these solutions for the smallest stores.

Choose for yourself if you want to use the new CLOUD plans

The new cloud and the method of settlements is an "innovative solution", we hope that you will perceive these changes positively. In order to reduce the potential stress associated with the change, the best thing is that you can choose for yourself whether you want to stay with the current method of operation and settlements, or use the CLOUD PRO.

Remember, however, that due to the availability of a better scaled offer, changes to DEDICATED CLOUD subscription plans will only take place within 14 days of notification. We are also introducing a migration fee not only when downgrading the plan, but also when upgrading the DEDICATED CLOUD plan.
Also all the news like Headless Frontend, new transaction API etc. will be available only to customers using CLOUD PRO.

The new plans are available via CSC and since they may be voluntarily chosen, they will be effective from October 1. Of course, we emphasize that it is not obligatory. If you decide to change your settlement method or you find that auto-scaling is a better option for you, you can change the way it works at any time in the future. After migrating to a new CLOUD PRO or ELASTIC CLOUD plan for technical reasons, there will be no possibility to return to the old CLOUD or DEDICATED CLOUD infrastructure.
