New possibilities of the Composer tool. Edit components and build a unique image for your brand

You can already take full advantage of the Composer tool. The most important changes are: the ability to edit components without changing the entire template and the option to manually update components in the composition. Thanks to this, you can easily create a unique online shop on your own and build a unique image of your brand.

Design your shop with Composer

Composer is a new tool for designing online shops in IdoSell. It allows you to design your own template and build your dream online shop.

Composer allows you to use ready-made elements that are available in STANDARD templates and to edit and create your own components (the third stage of Composer changes). Thanks to that you don't have to edit the whole template - you can change only some components and leave the look of the rest unchanged. Composer provides a possibility to update compositions manually. The update button is used for this.

So with Composer tool you can create a shop from ready-made components, add and translate your own text, adjust colours to your vision, create and edit your own elements.

What will you gain?

  • You will build a unique image and a unique look for your shop. E.g. with the Composer tool you can keep the standard merchandise card, but create a unique list or search engine.
  • Create your own shop. You don't need to know programming or hire a specialist to change the look of individual components or letters in your shop.
  • Save time and money. Use over two hundred free components. You don't have to order work from specialists - you decide the look of your online shop.
  • Possibility to share components between panels.

How was it so far?

Until now, it was possible to edit the composition by repositioning, hiding and replacing standard components. Additionally, it was possible to overwrite the values of standard literals and image files.

To make custom modifications to the template, it was necessary to use the services of web developers. It did not provide the possibility to update the template with changes from standard templates.

What has changed?

First of all, we have introduced ability to edit components. Thanks to that, you can make changes in one or more components, and leave the look of the rest unchanged. You decide which components stay and which you edit according to your vision. The components will be updated on a regular basis, so your shop will always be up-to-date.

The second very important change is the ability to manually update components in Compositions. This is one of the biggest advantages of Composer. In response to your needs we have introduced the possibility to decide when the composition should be updated.

The Composer website is now more readable. There are two new tabs: Edit composition and Create new composition. The composition editing view has also changed. Thumbnails of new components have appeared. When you click on a thumbnail, the graphic will be displayed in full size.

Please note that you will not be able to edit the standard components. Therefore every time you want to edit a component, a copy will be created, i.e. a new component. The created component will be automatically inserted in place of the standard component in the edited composition.

When editing a component, you will find tabs with possible elements to edit. In the upper right corner of the page, there is a button of rejecting the changes and undoing the edition to the last created version of the component. Below that, there is an item for selecting the shop, template and language in which you would like to preview the template with the edited component.

At the bottom of the screen there are buttons Save and Finish editing. The former is used to save the changes made to the component. While Finish editing will lock the component for editing and create a new version of the component. The life cycle of a component is the same as for a composition.

Further plans

This is not the end of the development of the Composer tool. In the future, we plan to introduce the ability to migrate templates that have been created in the past to Composer. This will allow you to update your templates to the latest versions, as well as make modifications yourself.

If you don't see the above changes in your panel, it means that you don't have access to them yet. Don't worry, this will change in a few days and you will be able to take full advantage of all the features of Composer.
