On March 10th we have released new versions of STANDARD compositions and components in the Composer tool and a bunch of changes and improvements. We have shortened loading times, made it possible to buy multiple variants at once from the B2B product card, introduced autocomplete of the login with the e-mail address and improved the gallery and 1-Click Express Checkout. We also developed new product list view components.
Mobile devices generate more than half of web traffic, that's why while developing STANDARD templates and components we constantly look for new optimisation solutions for smartphones and tablets. Websites that take a long time to load are not only abandoned by Internet users, but they are also disliked by Google search engine. Website performance has become one of the key ranking factors, and our latest solutions speed up the rendering of the mobile version, increasing the rating of your shop by as much as 5-10 points in the Google PageSpeed Insight tool!
Listening to the needs of our customers selling in B2B we have extended the functionality of the product card in STANDARD B2B v3 to ensure even more convenient wholesale. Adding products to the basket in several completely different variants is now possible from one place with one click, which significantly improves wholesale. The total of all selected products is updated on an ongoing basis, as are the costs and delivery times, which we calculate for all selected variants.
We redesigned the existing full-screen gallery, focusing on optimal use of space and preserving the most important interface elements. By adapting the gallery to the width of the shop we managed to significantly reduce the amount of empty and often unused screen space, and by resigning from the rarely used function of sharing and switching the browser to full screen mode we have gained space for displaying the name of the viewed product, which will significantly facilitate assortment comparison, especially in the case of very similar products.
We do our best to make the solutions implemented in STANDARD templates as ergonomic and universal as possible, but we also listen to our customers' needs and opinions. That's why we prepared an optional gallery component, where the buttons for scrolling the photos are always displayed at a fixed height. The buttons now have a semi-transparent background so they do not overshadow the graphics on smaller screens.
This is an additional version of the gallery to use in the Composer tool. The operation of the default gallery in STANDARD compositions has not changed.
The registration process in the shop has become even faster and simpler. After entering the e-mail address on the registration page it automatically becomes the default customer login and is used for further logging into the shop. Customers can still enter their own user name - just edit the automatically completed field and change the e-mail address to your own login.
Customers using fast and convenient 1-Click Express Checkout by PayPal who do not have a completed contact number will be asked to provide a phone number before placing an order. Finalization of the order will not be possible until the required data is completed. The phone number is stored dynamically so that the quick payment process is not disrupted.
In addition, to maximise user experience, we moved the 1-Click Express Checkout button on the basket page so that it would appear before the "Continue" button and not generate accidental clicks.
We have moved the information about awarded loyalty points for product purchase to the benefits zone. We have also made the information about the possibility of buying the product with points dependent on whether the customer is logged in and has a required number of points, thus motivating them to place orders periodically in order to take advantage of the benefits of the loyalty programme.
The current product rating displayed in the form of stars on the products list can significantly increase conversion and sales. The results of our A/B tests indicate that the effects are highly dependent on the assortment and quality as well as the number of ratings. That's why we provide a new view of the products list with ratings as an optional component to be used in the Composer tool.
In the fashion industry, customers "buy with their eyes", so the new view component with large photos will be perfect for fashion shops and all those where images play an important role. Larger images not only enhance the presentation of the product range, but can also hold the visitor's attention for longer. For optimum graphic quality, it may be necessary to use larger images.
With STANDARD templates developed in the Composer tool you get access to new features and automatic updates whether you use STANDARD templates or take care of the shop design by yourself.
