Shopping habits have changed dramatically. For Polish consumers, online shopping is becoming very popular and increasingly trusted. Customers have become accustomed to the convenience of online shopping. The transfer of trade to the web is a definite trend in modern trade. And there is nothing to suggest that it will slow down any time soon.
Black Friday, which in the past was a typically stationary holiday and attracted crowds to shopping malls, combined with Cyber Monday gave almost a week of online sales. What was Black Friday like in 2021?
In November 2021, the GMV (Gross Merchandise Value) of IdoSell's online shops was almost 1,65 billion, 39 per cent higher than last year. At the end of the month, i.e. during Black Week and Cyber Monday, e-commerce sales were PLN 120 million (25 per cent) higher than in the other weeks of November 2021. The number of transactions in these shops also increased by 25 percent.
In November 2020 in IdoSell shops, the number of transactions compared to the same period in 2019 was 58.3 percent higher. GMV was then 73.49 percent higher than a year earlier (amounted to 1.2 billion PLN).
Black Friday is just the beginning. The end of the year and New Year's sales are the hottest time in e-commerce.
- The end of the year in e-commerce is a harvest time and an accumulation of shopping opportunities. It all starts with Black Friday. Then comes Cyber Monday, Free Delivery Day and the Christmas period. Retailers have their hands full. This is becoming more and more visible every year - explains Patryk Matusiak, account manager at IdoSell.
